From Elvis capturing the eyes and ears of teenagers in the 50s to Billie Eilish headlining festivals world-wide in the 2020s, music and fashion blend seamlessly. As a musician it’s important to find your style as well as your sound.

Luckily, here at Feedback we have searched the archives of music’s best looks to give you some inspiration. It doesn’t matter if your genre here at feedback we have you covered.

Without further delay let’s get into the looks!

Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley, 1973

Where else to start? The king of rock ‘n’ roll inspired teens and scared parents with his captivating music and onstage presence. In post-war America, Elvis broke the mould. In a time of conservatism and musicians wearing their dad’s suits, Elvis burst onto the scene with a new and unseen sense of fashion and style of music. Famed for his white, flared jumpsuit Elvis took the age of grey and made it gold.

Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks, 1980

The beating heart of Fleetwood Mac and half of one of rock’s most infamous relationships (there’s a few songs written about it), Stevie Nicks had undeniably one of the most iconic on stage looks of any singer. Famous for flowing skirts and intricate lace embracing the spiritual and ethereal aspects of her personality. Her looks were straight out of Woodstock and the hippie age of the 60s but Stevie Nicks took this and made it her own.

Ramones

Ramones, 1977

Emerging from the punk rock scene of the 1970’s, this Queen’s (NYC) band are renowned for their uniform, which with time has become a symbol of the rebellious punk genre. Peering from beneath their long, shaggy hair cuts, The Ramones were armoured in leather jackets, ripped jeans and self-promoting band t-shirts helping them lay the foundations for punk fashion as we know it today.

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg, 2011

Stepping into the limelight in the 90s, Snoop Dog has always dressed how he has wanted. Often seen sporting big sunglasses, thick chains, sports shirts and his famous cornrows the West Coast rapper blends comfort and style. Snoop, exudes a nonchalant coolness that other rappers tried to emulate. Snoop’s trademark sense of fashion has become a sub-genre in itself and inspired waves of rappers and young people alike.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish, 2019

Despite her tender age in comparison to her other ‘list-mates’ Eilish is a fashion icon in her own right. From humble beginnings to being one of the biggest artists of the modern age, Eilish has remained true to herself throughout. Wearing oversized t-shirts and long shorts with consistent pops of bright colours she took a step away from the conventional singers’ stylistic choices. Her hair has been a point of focus, as she turns heads with her vibrant hair styles and colours.
