Joni Mitchell for the 21th century. Gavanski, originally from Vancouver, Canada brings a stylish ennui to tracks such as ‘How to feel uncomfortable’ with a voice this is as unique as her song writing. Norwich Art Centre is one of her stops for her UK album launch tour “Late Slap”, this is one indie folk-pop artist that deserves all of you attention and must not be missed if you are in the area.

Rockabilly, funk, ska and crunchy guitars take covers from Soft Cell’s Tainted love to Don’t you want me baby by The Human League to new heights. The three piece (Daryl Blyth, Wayne Beauchamp and Ron Sayer) will keep you dancing until the light come on – there’s also karaoke afterwards but we doubt that you cover of You spin me round will be as good. Also, Hearing Green Day’s Basket case on a Ukulele is all the reason you need to go and see them.

This Indie four piece evokes a great mid 00’s indie sound of The Killers and Bombay Bicycle Club. Polished and professional song writing invites great promise for this young band who I have no doubt will be playing bigger and bigger gigs in the coming years, so why not go see them now so you can say “I saw them before they were big”.

Tribe of Ghosts
‘Dystopian music for a Totalitarian World’ only begins to describe this industrial/post-metal four piece from Brighton. This is one for the mosh pit crowd. If you do die in the pit you will be listening to the angelic tones of their front woman Becky Blaker (for those of you who have not heard her, sounds like a loud and powerful Beth Gibbons (Portishead) – mixed with the impressive guttural screams of vocalist and guitarist Adam Sedgwick. All of this is tied together with monster breakdowns and Nine Inch Nails levels of electronic soundscapes.
